Submission guide of the 17th spring symposium of Japan Association for Medical Informatics

The classification of the presentations
In this symposium, the presentations will be classified as follows;
- Oral presentations: Presentation time is 40 minutes including discussion.
- Posters A : Sticking posters through whole period. A poster of which size is twice compared with a regular one should be prepared for improvement of visibility. 15 minutes presentation and 10 minutes for discussion will be scheduled for each poster.
- Posters B : Sticking posters through whole period. One of the authors should attend 15 minutes for discussion during the symposium.
The categorization is almost the same as that of the 2012 spring symposium at Hakodate. Presentation time may change due to the restriction of capacity of the hall and/or number of programs.
Submission rules
- The contents of submission should be a result of the research concerning medical informatics and its related field. New results from enhanced development of the past research can be also welcomed. It may be also accepted regardless of the above-mentioned restriction depending on the contents. The aim of acceptance of the presentation is promote to publish the paper.
- Submissions will NOT be accepted;
- A presentation of the research in progress (ex. : "Research on xx : Part X")
- A presentation which consists of only an introduction or criticism.
- What does not go beyond the introduction of commercial articles.
- The first authors must be a member of Japan Association for Medical Informatics. For co-presenters, this limitation is not adopted.
- At first, please submit a "short paper" (2 pages in maximum). A short paper is urged to include the background, purpose, results, and discussions of your research. Please use the prepared MS-Word form.
- Please select the presentation classifications at the submission. Please see first page of a form for details.
- Submission deadline of a short paper is 17:00 on Fri., January 25, 2013.
We apologize that the deadline is quite near.
Reviews and notifications
- Based on review results, the program committee classifies a result into "candidates of oral presentation ", "candidates of posters A", "candidates of posters B", or "rejected", and then notifies to the corresponding author.
- In this symposium, the number of presentation may be limited by the restriction on a program configuration and site management. So, selection of contributor may not be met at the time of submission. Especially, the number of "oral presentations" will be only 3 or 4. The submission with selecting "oral presentations" or "posters A" may be altered to a "poster B candidate" as the result of review.
- Each author resulted as "an oral presentation candidate" or "a posters A candidate" should to submit a full paper (8 pages in maximum). We will announce you in detail at the notification of a result. Submitted full paper will be reviewed again.
Accepted papers
- The accepted short papers will be distributed (or sold) as a printed matter at the symposium.
- The papers finally accepted as "oral presentations" and "posters A" are given the right to be published as a "spring symposium paper" on the Journal of Japanese Association on Medical Informatics, after a format check and so on. Also, a right to receive the recommendation as an "original paper" to other journals or magazines which develop the contents further and contain the contribution will be given.
- Therefore, this symposium publishes a paper only on the Web with access limitation, and then deletes them after a fixed period.
